2000 Chevrolet Impala Base review from North America
"I loved this car!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When I sold it, the buyer noticed that it had an oil leak. I took it to a mechanic to see if the price we had agreed upon (after we noticed it needed repair) was a fair price - he told me it was a common GM problem. Also, the trunk open light was stuck on for some reason. Other than that, only the regular routine maintenance.
General comments?
Tons of room, especially in the backseat. My husband's friend was comfortable in the back seat at 6'4".
It handled great for its size. It is a big car, but once I got used to it I could pull it into just about any parking space and turn it on a dime.
It was very reliable, in 5 years I had basically no problems with it. I only sold it because we are moving to Alaska and I want/need a truck, otherwise I'd have driven it another 5 years. I will say that I was so impressed with the Impala that I'll be buying another Chevy.
