1993 Geo Tracker LS 1.6

Summary:

Great car!!!

Faults:

I have had to rebuild the hubs and change the rotor and distributor cap.

I had to replace the back window, it got too cold and cracked.

General Comments:

This has been the best car I have ever had. I turned it on its side in 1999 and it still runs perfect.

I drive it about 100 to 150 miles a day. It gets great gas mileage, about 26 mpg.

It was a lot more comfortable when my kids were smaller, but we can still fit with two teenage boys and one girl, and all their school bags.

It doesn't have a lot of speed, but it starts everyday and gets me where I need to go with no problems.

1993 Geo Tracker

Summary:

I wouldn't trade my Tracker for anything other than a Harley, sportscars included!

Faults:

So far, the only problems I've had with my "new" Tracker is that it doesn't like to climb mountains. It has a tendency to run a little warm and sluggish while driving up in the Sierra.

General Comments:

My Tracker was just what I needed while going through my divorce and starting over. It's reliable enough that I feel safe driving my 2 boys around in it, yet it's still so much fun!

The top is light-weight and easy to install on the bad weather days, and it's the perfect "beach buggy" on the sunny days! It seems to be quite an attention-getter!

1993 Geo Tracker LSi 4 cylinder

Summary:

A true little giant; small but powerful!

Faults:

Had to replace the top, vinyl windows became very difficult to see through.

General Comments:

This is a wonderful vehicle for someone like me, who is just starting driving. It makes up for the lack of acceleration in torque and towing/pulling power. I have never been in a situation that the 4wd hasn't gotten me out of, and as rugged as it is on the outside, it is very comfortable on the inside, despite the lack of cargo space.

I have not had to replace any major parts on it or make severe repairs.

1993 Geo Tracker

Summary:

Great starter car for a teen

Faults:

Nothing really, does have a few leaks.

General Comments:

The Tracker is my 1st car. I love it to death! It's not meant to be a luxury car so comfort isn't an issue for me. It didn't cost a lot and for a first car for a teen it's a great one.

1993 Geo Tracker 2 dr. non 4WD 1.7 Liter gasoline

Faults:

The hinges on the doors both rusted out and began to fail in May 1997. This was

repaired by the manufacturer at no cost to me in June 1997 - but it took 3 weeks for the dealer to admit there was a factory recall on this defect, along with a videotaped copy of a CBS evening news article to this effect before the repairs were undertaken.

NO further repairs to this car, save for brake pad replacement on the front disc brakes (the rear drum pads are still original, after 96+K miles!)

General Comments:

As far as reliability is concerned, I have never owned a car with this high level of reliability. It's right up there with the best of the Japanese cars, and a lot less expensive to boot!

1993 Geo Tracker 2x4 4 cyl.

Faults:

1. Convertible top cheaply made, is coming apart.

2. Interior carpet is wearing out.

3. Vinyl mesh seats are unraveling.

General Comments:

This car is inexpensive to run and maintain. I do not feel safe in this car. It's not a good car for traveling, very bumpy and slow.
