2002 Buick Rendezvous CXL V6 from North America

Summary:

Too many uneasily detectable issues

Faults:

Cute, accommodating, smooth riding and great feel.

Initially, the air system failed at purchase of used buy. Replaced entire system under warranty.

Next, car won't start. Dealership, service station and other repair shops diagnostic: no codes.

Finally, replaced a few items including fuel filter, alternator, would start occasionally. Replaced air filter, truck started, got me home. Thought I was straight. NOT!! Back to the drawing board. So many problems.

2002 Buick Rendezvous CXL from North America

Summary:

I am saddened at learning that others have been fighting these issues for years with no resolution

Faults:

I am so upset now that I had purchased 2002 Buick Rendezvous CXL. I thought Buick would be a great car and trying to stay American made. But just as soon as we drove it off the lot, it made the rear end noise... scared and embarrassed as this is no where near my first car. I wish I had looked at this website. I am hoping that all I need is the rear end flush that people are talking about. I am so tired of GM and the bailout yet we do not get one. Now I am stuck with this possible junk? Is there a class action suit? Count me in... realtinkerbell@aol.com

2002 Buick Rendezvous CXL from North America

Summary:

I wish Buick had gotten this one right. I love my CXL... but don't have the $$ for the maintenance

Faults:

First thing wrong... squeaky brakes. Mechanic says that's normal.

Second thing... getting too hot. Mechanic says that's also normal. It gets to the 3/4 mark before the fan will cut in.

The driver's side window fell down into the door... $300 for a regulator.

Now, I'm starting to have the electrical problems that everyone is talking about. Flickering lights, erratic gauges... air won't get cold. It's at the dealer as we speak... they are trying to figure out what's wrong this time. They just replaced the ignition switch thinking that's what's causing all the problems... charged me $287.00 and it did it on the drive home!!!! Back in the shop!

General Comments:

This car is extremely luxurious and comfortable. I bought it at a moments notice. I wish I had done my homework... had I know about all these problems I would have never ever purchased it.

2002 Buick Rendezvous CLX 3.4 from North America

Summary:

Rendezvous in the dictionary is under melon

Faults:

I have a Buick Rendezvous. I have replaced all window motors, A/C condenser, water pump. Now we are having problems with electricals.

Fuel gauge is not working.

Both rear wheel bearings replaced.

Sit down for this one; a windshield for this car is $1400.00.

Do not buy one. It has constantly overheated.

I have a 2002 Rendevous CXL AWD that I bought 2 yrs ago with high mileage from a used car dealer.

We have had very minor problems -- switch for power windows drivers side broke after 6 months (he replaced it for free) not a Buick dealer.

We are very happy with our vehicle. Gets great gas mileage for a SUV. Guess we are lucky!!

Also, the hatch door latch will not work so he has ordered me one (about $100.00) and is putting it in labor free! Guess you folks need good guys like we have here in Maine!!

2002 Buick Rendezvous FWD CX 6 cylinder 3.4 from North America

Summary:

The worst car I ever bought

Faults:

My wiper motor had to be replaced at 70,000 miles. My seats have started to get torn. My rear bushings need to be replaced. My front hub assembly needs to be replaced. I have changed the front rotors twice, back rotors once. The car cuts off while I am driving and starts back up again in a split second because of some electrical wiring.

The radio will be on but you can't hear anything and the whole things just freezes up where you can't change the station or play the CD,..so we have to take the radio fuse out and put it back in. What else? Oh I haven't even finished paying for it yet. Thanks GM!! I would recommend that no one buys this car. It will run well for the first couple of years (seriously two years) before a lot probelms start to crop up.
