Head Gasket on the verge of blowing.
Leaks anti-freeze often especially after I put it in park.
Runs at high temperatures, but coolant levels seem to be fine.
Front end damage from rear ending a Porsche Boxster.
Sometimes, especially in the rain, but not always, when I turn the high beams on, the headlights will shut off completely. I have to turn them off and back on again for them to come back on.
Rattles at idle occasionally, but nothing major.
Serpentine belt has slipped off while driving due to anti-freeze leak somewhere.
The car is truly a die hard.
The handling is great and it runs well in the snow.
The seats are comfy and interior is roomy.
Good on gas mileage.
Great for my first car, started out inexpensive.
Maintenance isn't too much to keep up with, but it can get to be a problem.
9/10 for reliability? I'm sorry, but anything with the problems you described at the mileage you list does NOT deserve that kind of mark.
Merely not leaving one stranded at the side of the road is not an accomplishment in this day and age.
The car never left me stranded. No matter how bad the problem was, it always managed to get me home. Unfortunately, the car has moved on. I believe it is no longer drivable, but I may be wrong. I can never be to sure with this car. It is very unpredictable.
My dad gave me his 2.5 years ago @ 180,000kms and now it has 255,500kms.The head-gasket already had a slight external leak and it rattled and shook like crazy at idle (still does) but runs good. The body is perfect. I had to change the radiator, fuel pump and misc. maintenance parts, but so far pretty good. Although my wipers stopped working about 205,000kms and my signals stop flashing from time to time, but it runs awesome. Just some advice; In the Summer months, use 180 degree thermostat rather than OE 195 degree. It works MUCH better.
