I had a Daewoo Laganza from July of 2000 to October 2007. The car made it through myself drove it to 110,000 and three of my four children. While it was not a Rolls it did the job with few problems. Just changed the oil and the tires.

Sorry for those of you that had problems; mine was a great car and it just needed to be put down at 135,000. Good luck and have a good day.

In year 2006 December I bought 2000 Daewoo Leganza with 100k mileage on it.

I changed tires, shocks, brakes because I have information that the car had sat idle for some long time with the previous owner. But it has very comfortable driving.

Recently at 113km, suddenly the engine was stopped, and I found the timing belt was broken, and realized that previous owner hadn't changed it. It cost me $2000 to replace the timing, pulleys, water pump and valve job. My mechanic took almost a month to get the parts and complete the job. Now it is running great. You can get the parts online. http://www.daewoous.com

I love the car with comfort, luxury, mileage and engine power, but it needs to be maintained well like every other car.

I recently bought a 2000 Laganza. When we got it, the timing belt was broken. There were several valves that were bent inside the engine also. We got this car at a fair price ($500) because my husband "tinkers" with cars and wanted something to do.

After taking some time and tracking the parts down we finally found places in California and Florida that have the parts. We replaced the timing belt and the valves and it ran great for about two months. Then the timing belt shredded and of course bent some of the valves again.

We made the repairs again and now I have been driving it for about a month and the oil light keeps fading off and on. It comes on real bright when I am slowing down then as I take off, it goes out.

Anyone have any suggestions?? I actually really like the car, I just want it to be safe and sound. I have two children and would hate to break down in the cold.

I bought a 2000 Daewoo Leganza, and I've had it for a couple of days, and so far it's a really good car!! It drives super fast... but you can't really tell how good a car is in just a couple of days! I'll keep you all posted!

I bought a Leganza when they went bust here in the UK. A fully loaded, three year old car for 2.5k. Apart from all the usual car problems -ie air con failing, wiper motor, rocker cover gasket oil leak etc, this car has been a dream.

Sure, it won't win any prizes in the looks department, but it runs really well and now has 148k on the clock.

My engine management light has been on and off for years. I ignored it forever, then went to a different mechanic and he fixed it with a cheap brake switch.

The point of this post? Any car will give you grief - I think most of the time it's just all about luck. I've also got a Ford Focus - the ride is hard, the gear change lumpy, but that doesn't make it a bad car. I like my Daewoo!

I have two Leganzas in Australia, and one has been cooked twice badly due to a faulty replacement hose, and still goes well without any other repairs, and the car gets flogged often.

The other one has an engine knock at 170000, but after pulling it apart, I can't find the source, other than that they are very good cars.

The dash leather is average.

Not made for the Oz summers.

No other (problems).

Bought my 2000 Daewoo Leganza CDX in May 2009 with 87k on it. In September 2009 the engine blew and needed to be replaced. Now the check engine light is on all the time, but it's because one of the O2 sensors needs to be replaced. Other than that, I haven't had problems since and love the car!

Hi, I have a Daewoo Espero 1995 auto transmission. I need to locate the transmission control module; the power warning light is on while driving.
