2000 Daewoo Nubira CDX 2.0 from North America

Summary:

Not a bad vehicle to drive, but we've been abandoned when it comes to service

Faults:

The brake pads and rotors have been replaced several times since purchase.

Rear window washer has been repaired twice.

Control arms were replaced at 30,000 miles.

Right side sway bar link needs replacement at 43,000 miles. Parts cannot be located.

General Comments:

The vehicle seemed like a good value at the time of purchase. It had many features for a small wagon. I started to suspect bad brake design after the rotors were replaced a second time under warranty. When the manufacturer went bankrupt and the dealer took the Daewoo sign down, I knew I was in trouble. I am very disappointed at this point.

My dealer is still able to get parts. I had the brake pads replaced and the rotors were fine. I bought this car for my wife and it has been a great car, very few problems. If we did have a problem, our dealer was able to take care of it with little or no delay. In fact, we had to have the A/C control unit replaced and he had it in stock. Besides the one sensor that went out, those are the only things that have gone wrong.

In 98 I bought a Daewoo because it seemed good value for money, I was right. It had 10000 miles on the clock, and had been on the forecourt for a couple of months. I sent it in to the dealer in Croydon for its first service. when the car came back they had changed the two back springs and the silencer because there were brown spots of rust from not being used, this was free of charge. The car was spotless.

When I moved home to Ireland I broke the exaust on a bad bump. The dealer fixed it the next day even though that model wasn't sold in Éire and he had to get the part from Belfast in Northern Ireland. When I left it in for service he gave me a loan car. At 25000 miles per year I am on my second Daewoo and will be on my third. I would not buy any car new, but nearly new Dewoo Nubira, brilliant, and the new dealer is excellent.

Well unless the buy a used one they won't get one Daewoo was bought out by GM and Daewoo america has been discontinued. You can get a brand new one on ebay now for about three thousand dollars I guess that's says a lot for the people that paid like 13,000 they have no resale value at all I'm sure-

2000 Daewoo Nubira CDX 2.0 Liter from North America

Summary:

Very attractive exterior hides unreliable engine and parts

Faults:

Every tire has blown out within the first year and a half.

The front control arms had to be changed after 40000 miles. This problem would cause my right front tire to wear unevenly, and eventually be punctured by its own metal inside.

The brake lights stopped working twice. When I went to get them fixed, the mechanics put in the wrong brake lamp switch. This caused my cruise control not to work. I brought the car back 3 times to have the cruise control fixed. It took 2 years for them to get the right part.

I've had the starter changed twice. That didn't solve the problem that I am still having when starting my car.

Now the fuel injector or pump is getting vapor plugged, and my car won't start. Maybe there are more problems than I am aware of.

General Comments:

Of course, I loved my car when I first got it and for about the first 20000 miles. After it hit 20000 everything started breaking.

It handles well, but has bad suspension.

It is comfortable to ride in, but the seats are hard.

I bought the highest warranty, and now it is not valid because of the company going bankrupt.
