1994 Dodge Intrepid ES 3.5L 24v from North America

Summary:

Powerful and really nice when tricked out with all the options!

Faults:

False alarm to the "Message Center" from the washer fluid level sensor. Haven't had it checked yet, I removed the bulb in the message center temporarily until I can take it in.

I broke the power antenna in an un-attended car wash, dealer had the part in stock and INSTALLED IT FOR FREE (!!), while I was paying for the part.

"Check Engine" light is coming on so I will take it for a service soon. It does go off for a period of time before it reminds me again.

General Comments:

This car is CLEAN and very well maintained from an appearance standpoint, I have no mechanical history. It seems that it was garaged all the time and never driven in the rain (?) One previous owner (single/female). I purchased it for $7995.00 which is the mean average of retail/trade-in Blue Book values, so I felt the price was fair. I am not sure what color it is. It is the goldish-greenish-silverish depending on where you're standing and the lighting conditions. It has EVERY stock option that was available including the painted and clear-coated aluminum alloys. I am extremely pleased with this car.

The color you are describing is "chargold", available from 1995-1997. Have you had no problems with front-end creaks and groans??

You just haven't had the car long enough. You'll lose the tranny and half the steering parts before you hit 100k. Never fails.

I owned this car for about 50000 miles and had no major problems. I think some of the people who wrote comments here are anti-Chrysler foreign car owners who think they know it all!!!

I own a 1994 dodge shadow with 134,000 miles. The front end had been creaking and making noises way before the 100,000 mark, Now something is rattling in the front end big time. Has anyone else owned this car and had the same problem? I will never buy another dodge ever again.

Faults:

Timing chain - 95,000 miles.

Transmission line loose - 75,000.

C-pillar post faded, replaced free @ 60,000 miles.

General Comments:

Best road car I have ever owned. Extra spacious interior, especially rear seats. Rear seats are as comfortable as the front seats; that is a rarity! Lots of pep. Car still looks as good after 112,000 miles as it did when it was new. First Chrysler product I have ever owned, but it will not be the last.
