What things have gone wrong with the car?
Engine started running rough at about 75,000 miles. A tune-up was no help. It first started running rough after the engine quit on me on the highway. The fuel gauge indicated 1/4 full, but the engine acted as if it ran out of gas. After I put 2 gallons of gas in the tank, the car started again. The fuel gauge then started reading erratically, and I no longer can afford to trust it. I have put gallons of fuel injector cleaner through the system, with no change.
The engine overheats when the air conditioning is on in stop and go traffic on hot days. A flush and fill was no help.
Just recently the transmission started failing to engage in cold weather. The problem seems to go away when the engine/transmission warm up.
The right rear door lock started making noise right after I bought the car. The noise is getting progressively worse, and I'm waiting for the door lock mechanism to fail before I do anything about it.
The right rear window stops working periodically. Pounding on the right rear armrest sometimes fixes that problem.
The driver's door window is off track, and closes noisily.
A very minor brush with a curb knocked the front end out of alignment.
The right front door speakers don't work.
General comments?
When it's running well, it's smooth and powerful. When it's running rough, it's a clunker.
The interior is roomy and generally comfortable, especially on long trips.
The stereo works well, and the in-dash 4-CD changer is a plus.
