2004 Dodge Ram Pickup SLT 5.7 litre Hemi from North America

Summary:

Dodge has come a long, long way...C-ya GM

Faults:

Nothing major has gone wrong with this truck at all, had the left headlight (daytime running light) burn out last year prematurely.

General Comments:

As a former GMC fan, my previous truck was a 2001 Gmc, full load,4x4,I had so many problems with the truck, it was great relief to see the tail lights leave when I sold it in 2003.The quality of Gm's top of the line trucks is beyond belief, plastic nightmare, The Dodge has been a welcome relief, and I am now a converted Ram fan, and will certainly buy another Dodge when I'm done with this one. The power is unreal, the comfort factor is good, and the "looks" appeal is great.

2004 Dodge Ram Pickup SLT 3.6 HEMI from North America

Summary:

The only truck to buy!

Faults:

I have had no problems with the truck. It Runs and drives like a dream.

General Comments:

I Think that the Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi is a great truck.

IT is strong (can pull a larg trailer like it is not even there.

The Hemi is also fast. (Can go 0-120) in about 14.5 seconds.)

The only down fall is the gas millage. I get around 14-16 in town and 17-20 on the hwy.

It is also comfortable. The seats are tall and have plenty of leg room. Also the quad cab leaves plenty of room for an adult in the back.

2004 Dodge Ram Pickup 1500 SLT 5.7 Hemi from North America

Summary:

Finest vehicle I've ever owned... so far

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong so far.

General Comments:

This is the best looking truck in town. I bought it in Denver, CO and got what is called the "Mile High Hemi" package on it. Flame red and chromed out it looks and drives fantastic.

The 5.7 Hemi is unbelievable. It rivals my Police Packaged '93 Z28 for HP and response, which is amazing from a full-size truck.

For a guy like me (6-5 235 lbs.) the interior room is fantastic in the quad cab. I am extremely comfortable getting in and out and on long or short trips.

The only negative is that when I had the permaplate applied to the exterior at the dealership I bought it from, the tech left two tiny fingerprints on the rear driver's side of the bed.

2004 Dodge Ram Pickup Ram 2500 5.7 HEMI from North America

Summary:

Powerful, agile, and domineering vehicle for someone that wants a truck for a "truck," not a "car."

Faults:

No problems to date.

General Comments:

The Dodge Ram, in my opinion, is the toughest looking truck on the road. Other than the overall look of the truck, my main reason for purchasing it was the 5.7 liter HEMI. This truck has power! It definitely blows Ford away in engine performance and has a slight edge on Chevy. Diesels are a whole other story so I won't go there.

My reason for grading it an "8" in comfort is because of the rear seat. It does not recline enough and it is the smallest seat of the Big Three; however, it is still more comfortable than the crew cab of the new Ford F-150. Chevy has the most comfortable rear seat, and the Ford F-250 is also more comfortable. But I am not sitting back there so I don't care that much. The front seat is very comfortable and the driver and passenger get a great view of the road.

I prefer the interior layout of the Dodge over Ford and Chevy. Chevy needs a redesign REAL BAD!

I would recommend this truck to anyone. It has plenty of power (with the 5.7), it is still made like a truck to be a truck, not like a car. I have heard of and read many posts about some some major problems people have had with Dodge pickups, but luckily for me my truck has been trouble-free (knock on wood). I think every manufacturers' vehicles have problems, Dodge problems just seem to be more widely spoken about.

Bottom line is, Ford guys likes Fords, Chevy guys like Chevies, and Dodge guys like Dodges. I think you can't go wrong with either of the three. Good luck with your decision.

P.S. - I lined my bed with Line-X instead of a bed liner and I am glad I did. Spray-on is definitely the way to go!

Well, if you really wanted a "truck" and not a "car", why would you even care whether it "has" a rear "seat"?

I live in the UK and we don't see many Rams here, but I came across one on the road the other day. I came up to a roundabout, outbraked the Ram and got ahead with plenty of room to get back in the left hand lane, and there was a healthy gap between my car and the Ram. Not for long though; there was a big shiny grille seemingly catapulting itself towards me with unbelievable pace! And the noise! Well done Dodge, most UK offroaders and pickups are really boring and really slow, and my brief encounter with a Ram left a smile on my face for a good while after!
