1998 Ford F150 XLT Ext. Cab review from North America
"I would buy this truck again!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I have had very few problems with this truck.
Had to change the front brake pads around 75,000 miles. It was a simple fix.
Occasionally in very cold weather the idle controller must stick causing the truck to not want to idle properly. If I rev the truck up a couple times when this occurs, the problem disappears.
The hood did not want to latch properly, but used some WD-40 to loosen the release mechanism under the hood and it works fine now.
General comments?
This has been a great truck for me. I am a firefighter and have used it to respond to the fire station and this truck can move!
I have also pulled several heavily loaded trailers with this truck, and the truck has done well. Plenty of power.
The ride is great for a truck.
I would like if the truck got better gas mileage (who wouldn't), but 15+ mpg in town isn't too bad.
