2000 Ford Fiesta Finesse 1.3 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A great nippy little car!

Faults:

Only little silly problems!!

There is an annoying little rattle coming from the dash.

Other than that, no real problems.

General Comments:

This is my first car and its great. It drives smoothly and the handling is very responsive.

Acceleration is decent in the lower gears, although it gives up somewhat as soon as you slip into 4th or 5th.

For the slightly taller driver, this car has to be one of the best in its class. The seats are comfortable and sporty and pedals are a reasonable distance apart. The new face-lift has also done it a great deal of good, looking more modern and sporty. The interior of the car is very spacious and roomy with exceptional drivers vision and a sunroof. Head room in the back is rather limited, with anyone over 5'10 having to lean forward to avoid putting their head through the rear window!

Boot space is very spacious. I suspect very good for getting the shopping in!

I have not really had any problems with this car at all and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a small economical (up to about 50 miles per gallon) car.

From my point of view though, one of the best features of the car has to be the sound system that comes with it! The sound is amazing to say it's a factory fitted standard! Great nippy little car.

If you think this car is good for the taller driver you should try a car with real headroom like a Fiat Punto or Toyota Yaris. The headroom in the MK 4/5 Fiesta's is one of the worst in the super mini class.

If you're a taller driver then buy a bigger car, to the rest of us normal sized people, this car is fantastic. If just had the clock to 25,000 miles and I don't think there is a day if regretted buying this car. I've mad many a modification to her, and had few problems. She looks even better know than she did the day I got her! Nice one ford!

The fiesta finesse (year 2000) is a fab little car. had mine for four years now and have had only usual wear and tear.

I'm fairly tall and I fit into it OK, and yes I agree, it does have good vision, good handling and is a smart little motor for getting to work in and doing the shopping.

I have never regretted a day since I purchased mine, and its done a few miles since I got it.

Well done FORD. This one's a winner.

2000 Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.25 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Not the most sensible small car around, but certainly one of the most fun

Faults:

Radio display frequently does strange things, like flashing, or displaying some very odd things. Radio and tape continue to work though.

Interior trim became incredibly rattly after second dealer service.

Loud clunk from offside front suspension, again immediately after second dealer service.

Occasional intermittent electrical fault, such as rear wiper refusing to work, interior light failing, or even on one occasion I returned to the car to find the dashboard lights were illuminated despite the lights being off. Obviously some sort of short somewhere, but because it is intermittent it is nigh on impossible to trace.

General Comments:

The car itself hasn't let me down, but the trim and electrical faults towards the end of my ownership put me off it a bit.

The Zetec engine is a gem though, I just wish it returned better economy - I struggled to break 35mpg with it, even though my old Renault 5 frequently returned 40mpg plus - with a thirty year old engine design!

Quite comfortable, excellent handler, a good fun car for singles or couples, but definitely not for young families. There is a distinct lack of room in the car, especially in the rear and the boot.
