"Pocket Rocket"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Bottom suspension arm bush - Replaced wishbone both sides.

General comments?

This car is quick and embarrasses bigger engined sports car's. The seats in this car are top notch - recaros with nice side supports.

Driveability is good so the car is very nice to drive sensibly or at speed racing other boy racers! I've Destroyed VTR's, beat a 106 Gti, easily beat focus's and astra's.

Can't imagine it's beaten a 106GTi, certainly not standard. I've just bought a '95 Si and am certainly impressed so far. Looking forward to fitting a K&N and Powerflow and see what I can get out of it.

This car is NOT fast, I had one for a week after a 1990 XR2i, and I can tell you that even with an exhaust and filter it was still slow, sluggish and never willing to rev - horrible! much preferred the old CVH in the XR.

My first car was a 96 rover 214 16v bubble shape, and I can tell you that even that was faster and its not even a hot hatch.

Oh, and its not a "Sports Car", I wouldn't even call it a "hot hatch",,, just a "hatch"!

Sorry if I have offended anyone, but its the truth! and that's what this site is all about!

Car is nice to drive, but it certainly won't destroy a 106 GTI I have just bought one and although a smooth and comfy as it is that is all it is. I just changed from a metro gti 16v mpi which is a match for a 106 GTI and the fiesta is nowhere near as fast. the zetec is just too lazy to be revved.

Sorry mate having owned a few hot hatches including a saxo vts a metro gti Mpi and 2 fiesta si's I can tell you from personal experience I wouldn't class the si as one it won't beat a 106 gti/saxo vts. although great cars theyr'e are not fast at all. nippy I would say they only have 88bhp which to be fair is poor compared to peugeout/citroen's 1.6 16valve which develops 120 bhp and seriously destroys the ford as it actually wants to rev. are you sure it wasn't a quicksilver they are more similar in respect to the si in performance.

How do you know he didn't beat a 106gti??? just because it's a faster car doesn't mean the driver is any good.

If the driver is good, or nuts it doesn't matter how good a car you have you won't beat them,

my son has a 1.6si and he is a very good driver, to beat him you need a car with a fair bit more power, he can't beat 106gti's or the vts but he can hold them off or even keep up if the road is twisty enough.

He can beat the vtr and his friends rover 214 with a 1.6 engine fitted.

It all depends on the driver not just the car 90bhp is enough if you know how to use it.
