1990 Ford Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth 4x4 review from UK and Ireland
"Cheap to buy, but expensive to own and maintain"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The water pump failed almost immediately.
Then the head gasket.
Then most of the water pipes, one after another.
Regular tuning and electrical problems.
Needs regular bush replacements.
General comments?
I think the above problems come with any RS Cosworth that has covered the miles mine had when I bought it, however comprehensive service history is a definite must so as to avoid so many problems all in one go.
I was glad I opted for the 4x4 as it handles extremely well and is especially rewarding in the wet when other cars would so easily fail to retain any grip.
Unfortunately the build is poor, but then that is typical of Ford, so it shakes and rattles, however it most defiantily rolls!
