Hi, good day everyone.

I have a Telstar 1993 2.5 V6 with 1 million plus on the clock. The car runs strong, but I have phoned Ford and it is 2000 rand in South Africa, and one other thing, does anyone know why white smoke comes out of exhaust when started and stopped when driven?

The Malaysian built Telstar cars have a reputation for excessive maintenance cost as a result of issues related to low build quality. Sell it and buy bike.

Hi guys,

I have an issue with my Ford Telstar TX5; the V6 Ghia. One day after I drove about 3 km to the shop, I got out for maybe 5 minutes, and when I tried starting again there was no spark on the distributor.

I replaced the condenser, bought another distributor with the same outcome; engine turns over but no spark.

Please, please help.

I have a 1996 Ford Telstar TX5 2.5 V6 hatchback.

I really love this car... it has 213000 on the clock... it looks like the top of the range model.

Recently did the alternator and front control arm bushing.

This is really a great car.

Sounds like you may have a faulty fuel cap. If the breather valve jams, a vacuum can be created within the fuel tank preventing fuel flow to the motor. Is a common fault with all cars that are old. New fuel tank cap, and problem solved.
