1994 Ford Tempo GL 3.0 Liter V6 from North America

Summary:

A wonderful low-budget, nice ride

Faults:

The connections to my driver-side headlight are loose and the light tends to turn off and on while driving.

The rear passenger door does not lock.

The rear driver-side door does not unlock.

General Comments:

I love the body of the car except for the rear-end, I think it could have been designed to look nicer.

The interior is just a bit too small than what I'd like it to be.

The car handles really well, has a nice smooth ride.

The 3.0 liter engine has a lot of pickup.

1994 Ford Tempo GL 3.0 from North America

Summary:

You get more for your money

Faults:

Nothing really major has gone wrong with this car. We have done a lot of just maintenance to it.

General Comments:

This car is one of the best investments I have ever made!

The 3.0 engine has a lot of get up and go and is very reliable.

The car itself has a very sharp look to it being a two door.

Also there weren't too many cars made with this particular engine, 2 door style, and with air conditioning.

I am very glad to own this car!

It would be a great investment for anyone.

1994 Ford Tempo GL 4 cylinder from North America

Summary:

A great car, I would surly buy another one

Faults:

A motor mount broke.

Wiring problems.

General Comments:

It is my first car that I bought, and it was well worth the money I paid for it. Looks great, has a few dings, but, its still in good condition.

Drives great and is good on gas mileage. Which is great when your 16 and have very little money.

Has a small problem with the wiring. My interior lights don't work anymore, and I'm not sure why, and my radio doesn't work right when My headlights are on.

Gets me from point a to point b without question and is very reliable, I can depend on the car without a question.

Hey, I totally agree with you that these make great first cars and all; just take care of them and they'll last, which is pretty well the case with any car.

Luckily I haven't experienced any serious electrical or mechanical gremlins with my Tempo, but whenever I have a question about the car, I always go to http://www.tempotopaz.com and ask these people that have had these cars apart to every nut and bolt, and probably have experienced, or heard of every possible problem. Check it out if you haven't already done so... Membership is free, and the people are the most friendly I've seen on forums.

I definitly agree with both of you I have had mine since it was brand new and it now has 300000 miles on it never had to replace any big parts ie: trans. or engine.

1994 Ford Tempo GL 2.3 4 cylinder. from North America

Summary:

Despite minor flaws, a great car

Faults:

Power steering Pressure hose broke at about 125,000, causing the loss of Power Steering. cost a total of $200 to fix.

Transmission leak which I cannot figure out why it's leaking. This happened at 121,000.

Noisy rear struts. Had this since I bought.

Driver side power window motor broke.

General Comments:

Despite a few minor things that go wrong with it, my Tempo is very reliable and has not yet broke down or stalled on me.

Even at 128,500, it still gets great gas mileage on regular roads and freeway (22/27mpg).

Engine still runs quite quietly.

1994 Ford Tempo GL from North America

Summary:

This is the best car I have driven.

Faults:

Well, my Tempo is a great car. The seat belt will not work when I open the door. The speaker on my left side some times glitches and will not work. The get engine service light constantly blinks, even though I have had it checked by my self and other mechanics.

General Comments:

This is a superb car with little flaws. It does not have a whole lot of power, but then again it has only four cylinders. It is a great car for a teen ager like me to have. It goes great on the high way and hugs the turns. Since it is front wheel drive I can accelerate around corners. It is a great car to drive.
