Summary:

Super speed without all the money

Faults:

I had to replace all the motor and transmission mounts at 80,000, which I thought was quite early and cost a pretty penny.

Timing belt went because unfortunately I forgot to change it. But the GOOD thing is that when you have the GSi instead of the 2+2 you have clearance for the timing belt if/when it goes.

And the back seat! Let me put it this way, if you're 4 foot tall or under, the back seat is perfect for you!

General Comments:

Unlike contrary beliefs this Geo is quite fast, it is one of the the fastest used 4 cylinder cars on the market, not to mention that they go pretty cheap.

And they look real sporty. They're not boxy like most of the inexpensive 4 cylinder cars of the eary 90's. And there are many mods available for these cars, with not too much money you can have this Storm running with the big guys!

Summary:

Almost a sports car..

Faults:

Timing belt went (my fault for not changing on time).

Air conditioning compressor went out.

I think that the power steering pump might be getting ready to go.

General Comments:

Good little car, its held up better than I ever thought it would. I've come to find out that this car was made by Isuzu and that Geo sold it as the Storm.

1990 Geo Storm 2+2 from North America

Year of manufacture1990
Engine and transmission
Performance marks 7 / 10
Reliability marks 7 / 10
Comfort marks 2 / 10
Overall marks (average of all marks)
5.3 / 10

Faults:

Starter, brakes (everything having to do with the brakes), CV joints, fuel pump.

General Comments:

It's not a bad car, I mean it's lasted me 123,000 miles with a few problems, but it still runs. Overall it's too small and not very comfortable. Good car for a teenager. Great gas mileage.
