1991 Geo Storm 2+2 1.6L SOHC 12valve from North America

Summary:

Great deal for amount of performance I got

Faults:

The shifter boot came loose at when I first got it.

The stocks were badly worn.

The tires spin uncontrollably if the clutch is dumped at about 5,000RPMs.

General Comments:

My storm "The Shocker" had a few engine mods when I got it. It didn't have anything to major just exhaust (after header), some sensors, a chip, and a K&N air filter. With the few mods I had a vehicle that was quicker than a lot of other cars I have owned.

The handling sucked at first, but put some decent H rated tires on it and it handles like a dream.

For a minimal amount of money you can get a great little car, but (in my opinion) some visual cues need to be altered to make it acceptable.

1991 Geo Storm Base 1.6L 4 cylinder from North America

Summary:

This car is a great low budget performer.

Faults:

The windshield is cracked. This was caused by a stone, but removing a used one has proven to be very difficult, even for experienced auto glass professionals. I need to buy a new one for a considerable amount more money.

The speedometer is noisy.

The front driveaxles are worn out. This is a common problem to front wheel drive and four wheel drive vehicles.

General Comments:

The car is light and nimble. It handles very well through moderate and high speed cornering, and is agile enough to make emergency lane changes, and dodge larger vehicle that may not be able to see it.

In my opinion, the seats are very comfortable, providing support where I need it. They are also supportive enough to keep me in place while making spirited maneuvers.

1991 Geo Storm GSi 1.9 DOHC from North America

Summary:

A fast, stylish, nice handling economy car.

Faults:

Dash Pad was cracked when I acquired the car for my wife. It has steadily gotten worse.

Front Struts had to be replaced at approximately 160,000 miles. (Rear shocks were replaced as a convenience at the same time).

Ignition Control Module had to recently be replaced at 199,000 miles. (A complete tune-up was also performed as a convenience).

General Comments:

This car, manufactured by Isuzu for (Chevrolet) Geo, is by far the most reliable car I have ever owned!

I am still amazed by the performance and handling of this little car.

The worst thing I can say about it, is it not meant to be used as a family car. Road trips are tough because of the hard suspension, the limited leg room and the "contoured" bucket seats. Putting an adult in the back seat for any extended period of time could be compared to medieval torture racks!

1991 Geo Storm Geo 2+2 1.7L 4 Cylinders from North America

Summary:

Undiscovered Street dream

Faults:

I changed a lot of parts on this car, but it was well worth it. I Changed the front and back brake pads and shoes, cracked front windshield, faulty lock on driver side door, passenger side window is offtrack, changed battery, spark plugs, oil stick keeps popping out which is very annoying, loose steering wheel need I go on?

General Comments:

This car is awesome! Aside from it's problems here and there this is a terrific car. I'm 17 years old and I bought this car when I was 16 for $700 but with a the money and new improvements I made on my Geo it is easily worth about $2000. I keep it clean and added sum rims, tinted the windows, installed a heavy sound system and threw on lights on the hood of the car. I love calling it my little Cam-Vic (because the front looks similar to a 85 Camaro and the back looks like a civic). I get so much love and respect when people see my car I honestly think I bring a lot of respect to the 'Geo' name. ;) I Seriously WISH that Chevy would bring back the Geo, it is such a cool looking car. Looks very stylish and fast, a lot of street racers would buy one along with regular Joe's. If I ever got rich I would buy a Geo and hook it up so good that I would dare anybody to test me!!

Well I'm 16 and I'm going to get one from a friends friend for free, because his son got into a little fender bender and the front end is falling off. he said that he had it appraised and it only should cost me about 300-500 bucks to fix it all up. I haven't seen it yet and I'm not sure if it's a storm or not, but the way she was describing it, it sounded like it. the main reason I'm getting it is because its cheap and its got good reviews from people like you!
