1990 Honda Civic GL 1.4 16v , Twin Cam , Dual Carb from UK and Ireland

Summary:

This is a great car, I would recommend it to anyone who likes speed. It's really worth it's money!

Faults:

The Clutch has recently got worn, but was cheap to repair.

The Driver's seat has worn slightly on the left arm causing a hole.

Everything else is fine.

General Comments:

This is a great car it's very comfortable and relaxing.

The performance is extremely impressive for a 1400cc. I make the 0-60 time about 8.8 seconds with a top speed of 118mph and brake Horse Power of 100+.

It really gets up to speed and before you know it your half way to where your going!.

This car really takes you to the limit!

1990 Honda Civic DX 1.5L from North America

Summary:

Perhaps the most reliable car on the road

Faults:

Headlight needed adjustment.

Air-conditioner hoses needed replacement -- apparently because the previous owner had an accident and did not bother to get them fixed.

Minor paint blemishes needed repainting.

But the later two problems came with the car. Otherwise, absolutely no repairs were needed.

General Comments:

I bought this car because I had driven the same model and year for some nine years on the West Coast. During that time I paid only for the routine servicing. I never had a single repair needed -- although the cassette tape recorder reverse started to malfunction occasionally after 8 years.

Frankly I cannot say enough in favor of this car. It gets 38 mpg, is (for me) comfortable and peppy. I am only selling it because I fell in love with a Mercedes. I hope I will not regret selling it.

Hey! I'm also a Honda owner.. Mine is 1991 4 door Civic.

A/C was working one day. The next thing you know, it started to blow warm air. The transmission started to die out on me on the highway. I purchased a Japanese transmission for 217.00 with only 45k on it, but I guess my mechanic did not know what he was doing. It worked for about 2 months, and now it won't get out of 1st gear and only moves on the flat. I had to put it on eBay.

Man, I really loved my Honda. Especially the sunroof in the summer.

1990 Honda Civic Si 1.6L from North America

Summary:

It's a tank, but comfier

Faults:

Water pump failed.

Starter failed.

Alternator failed.

Exhaust system has fallen apart on two separate occasions.

A few random electrical problems, especially during wet weather.

General Comments:

Have driven the living heck out of this car, including two cross country trips (one towing a U-Haul after getting the hitch welded onto the back) and it's always inspired confidence.

With 173k miles it's not nearly as peppy as it once was, but I guess that's to be expected.

Still on the original clutch, if you can believe *that*. Of course I don't drive like a maniac. :)

I'll forever be faithful to Honda after experiencing this car's rock-solid nature for the past 10 years in jungle-like humidity (St. Louis), brutal winters (Toledo) and arid, sweltering desert (Tucson).

1990 Honda Civic Si from North America

Summary:

I love this car

Faults:

The muffler has fallen off twice. The original two twin tips have both fallen off. Since I have replaced the tip and exhaust, nothing has gone wrong with it.

General Comments:

I just love this car. When I was looking for a car, this was the first one I looked at and I bought it two days later. It has been nothing but good to me. As long as you keep up with proper maintenance and tune ups, you will have no problems.

I am selling my car so I can get a new model. I really do not want to buy anything but another Honda because I know that they are so reliable and they are really good looking cars.

1990 Honda Civic LX 1.5L from North America

Summary:

Not a bad car overall, I just bought mine a little too old..

Faults:

Front coils rotted and broke at about 180,000.

Leaks in the radiator hoses and clamps.

Transmission never really felt right.

General Comments:

I bought this car pretty old so the above was all expected maintenance. The transmission was REALLY sluggish, especially if there were more than 2 people in the car. I would recommend the standard (5 speed) model.

Surprisingly all the power extras still work other than the cruise control.
