This car is great. Although I have heard from many 2001 Honda civic owners that the struts go bad. I have started to experience this problem. It began at 90,000 miles.
Honda has a recall on the light switch to turn on the headlights. it seems a fuse burns out and Honda changed it for free.
The headliner is starting to sag in the back. not a big problem.
Changed stock tires because they were horrible.
Transmission "pops" out of second sometimes to a horrible grinding sound. But they are all minor problems I paid 8,000 for the car and I am very happy!!
Overall I love the car. It is a civic so I can pimp it out and do to it my liking. gas mileage is great 38 on the highway and I think 32 in the city. it is not very powerful because like I said before it lacks a v-tech, but it still puts out a potent 115 horsepower.
The four doors are ugly, but the two doors look very sporty. Many people who write to this website about the 01 Honda civic say they are very disappointed. however I am a very happy Honda owner and I will stick with them my whole life. however it handles like a mini-van.
Why would you "pimp" a honda civic. Its called customizing, and its spelled VTEC, not V-Tech not V-tec not V-tekh or VTAK etc.
I purchased a 2001 Honda Civic LX in 2004. It was a certified used vehicle and I thought this would be the last car I purchased before retiring. I am so disappointed in the car and would never recommend the brand or model to anyone, ever.
I had to have the load detector replaced at about 76,000 miles and today, at 81,000 miles, I needed to replace all four struts at an enormous expense. The service rep said that this has been a problem with this model for a while. I called the customer service lady, who was not pleasant at all, and expressed my dismay, and she could have cared less. I have put too much money into parts and repairs of issues that are not your every day problems. Has any one else had these problems? I would love to hear your solutions if you could address this. Thanks bunches.
