1991 Lincoln Town Car Executive review from North America
"A dream of a ride, luxury at a low cost"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When I bought the car, I replaced the entire air-conditioning system. It had "black death". I shopped around and bought all brand new components for under $500.00, that's compressor, condenser, evaporator, hoses, etc. I installed them myself and the local shop pulled a vacuum and charged it with r134a for $30.00.
I also replaced the leaky air bags with coil springs and bypassed the air system. It rides as good as the air bags did for $75.00.
Recently I had to replace the egr sensor $100.00 and the fuel pump $125.00 at 105,000 miles.
General comments?
I bought this one owner car for $2500.00 It is immaculate inside and out. I have put many miles on it and have been very impressed with it's performance, fuel economy and wonderful ride. I have owned other Lincolns and wouldn't give up the ride for anything.
I have been very impressed by the small V8 motor. It runs strong and has very quick acceleration for a 4.6 liter motor.
