"680,000 miles and Ford bought it back!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The ORIGINAL ENGINE has 680,000 miles on it! It has outlasted 2 paint jobs, 3 transmissions& all the leather seats.
General comments?
I change the oil every 3,000 miles(usually less). I had it until July this year when I took it to a Ford dealer to have the power steering pump replaced. The manager there was stunned at how many miles are on it, he contacted some guy in Detroit& Ford bought it back for $25,000. It made it from Phoenix to Detroit w/no problems at all.
I loved that car. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the acceleration, and the steering and braking systems. They felt as if they were for a vehicle one size smaller. I kinda figured it accelerated slow because it's a big car.
