2000 Mazda 626 LX review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
First of all, I bought the car used. It had 74,000 miles on it. A couple of my friends had 626's and they seemed like great cars. So far, ever since I bought it, the belts have squealed. Now it is in the shop being checked for that.
Exactly one week after I bought it the linkage broke... It connects the shifter and the transmission and allows it to go into gear.
My compact disc player will go blank and freeze up for no reason. You have to play with the volume button to get it to come alive again.
I miss the body style of the older 626's, but it is still a smooth ride. I like the isolating air conditioner vents.
I would also give this car an A+ on gas mileage. It is a 4 cylinder and is very reasonable on gas. But again, I've only had it almost two weeks...
