General Comments:

I love my car; very roomy.

Just wish the parts to fix the problems weren't so much money.

2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue GX 3.5L twin cam V6 from North America

Summary:

A good car, killed too soon

Faults:

Nothing really; just the hub bearings and the heater sometimes not blowing out enough heat.

Car was in great shape when I bought it, and had just been serviced before I purchased it.

The fuel hand seems to be off. I am putting between 11.975 & 12.501 gallons of fuel in when the hand shows empty.

General Comments:

I like the car. It rides smooth and handles pretty good for a front drive GM mid size car. I love driving it on long trips.

The 3.5 twin cam seems to have plenty of power for what I needed to do, the engine is smooth with a small rumble to it, but not to the point that you sound like a hot rod, or a muscle car.

I have the GX trim level, which is fine by me, but there are a couple of options I wish it had; traction control and the PSC option.

Overall, so far a great car for the money I paid, though I think I could have got it cheaper. I wish the car had a driver's information center, that shows stuff like MPG and gallons remaining.

After having this car for two years, I am starting to hate it. Something is not right in the front suspension on the right side. I have had the hub replaced four times and the CV joint twice. All under service warranty, minus 100. The dealership can't seem to find the issue. My hub has gone out again with only 79215 miles.

Summary:

I love my car

General Comments:

Everyone with an 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue, please have the motor mounts checked, and make sure that you get the transmission mounts checked; the least of a shake will dis-align the entire car.

Also, I am having the same problem with the overheating. I went to Auto-Zone and bought for a head gasket problem "Head-Gasket & Block Sealer... Cost about $5, followed instructions and let's get our radiator flushed twice a year. I am a mechanic's daughter, and I do my own work on my own car, and have had "Cheeco" (that's my car's name) now for 2 years, and she has not failed me yet.

Oldsmobile are strong cars; treat your car as a child sick... make them better, maintain them.

I talk to my car, and I have not had a problem since (I might be crazy to you guys). But I love my car, and take care of him too.

2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue LS 3.5 from North America

Summary:

I hope it lasts many more miles, because I will not get rid of it until it's at its end!

Faults:

I have had problems with the car using oil. I am consistent with oil changes, about every three months. But it seems that the 'low oil' light comes on about two times in-between oil changes. I always keep extra oil in my trunk, so that I always have some to put in there.

The second most annoying thing that I have had, was it makes a knocking noise when I am going over bumps and/or turning. My boyfriend said it might just be my shocks, but my mechanic always tells me it's nothing to worry about.

I have had to replace both blinker lights and a blinker fuse.

The one problem I have heard from others is it not starting. For me, I wait until the miles show up, then start it, and it usually starts right up. If it doesn't, I turn the key off and restart, and it works just fine!

Lastly, I had a headlight go out.

General Comments:

I love my 2000 Olds to death! Its silver and dark grey interior.

I haven't had any major problems yet, and it drives so nice and handles great!

All of my family and friends love that I have butt warmers in the seat! They are so nice for chilly days, especially because the interior is leather!

I would say from the problems that I have heard, that I am lucky I have not had any major problems, and for having 147,000 miles, it runs like a dream!
