1995 Plymouth Neon Highline review from North America
"Would buy another one in a heartbeat"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Head gasket blew after 115,000 miles but gave several warnings I did not heed to because I drive them 'til they break. Paint is peeling but is 13 years old. Shifter cable bushing broke around 115,000 but has held now for 3 years with a simple coat hanger fix. Rain leaks into driver's floorboard in the cooler months. Radio volume just lately fades out but is "13 yrs. old". Driver's window has been floppy for the past two years but still works. Headlight lens' are milky and don't shine good at all. What it all boils down to is at 154,000 miles and 13 years I have had, if any, less problems, all things considered, with this Neon than the other vehicles I've owned... which is 12.
General comments?
Gets 38 mpg, quick and fast for a 4 banger, handles great, roomy in the front and lots of trunk space, well worth the $1000.00 I paid for vehicle 3 yrs. ago.
