Replaced the alternator twice.
Replaced the radiator twice.
Replaced the battery twice.
Replaced the water pump.
Replaced the serpentine belt.
Replaced stabilizer links.
Replaced drums, calipers and wheel cylinders.
Replaced trunk lock cylinder.
Replaced the O2 sensor.
Replaced the Throttle Position Sensor.
Replaced the muffler.
Replaced drivers side and passenger side window regulators ($400 each)
Replaced MAP sensor ($450).
A/C has failed.
Ignition wiring has come loose.
Head gasket is leaking.
Water is leaking into the trunk.
Engine mounts have worn out.
The car moves fairly quick and it is somewhat reliable on gas. The seats are very comfortable and the factor speakers are excellent. The car was designed poorly so rust occurs at the wheel wells and the trunk. Some people have good luck with these cars; I'm not one of those people.
I feel the owner of this car just had a bad one. I have a 92 Grand Am SE and the only thing that went worng with it was the radiator and I use the car over 300 miles a day.
The MAP sensor costs about $30 for the part. If someone charged $420 to install it they got robbed!
I agree car will nickel and dime you to no end bit when it runs it runs good and comfortable.
