1994 Pontiac Sunbird LE 2.0 from North America

Summary:

A good dependable car

Faults:

In September of 2001 I had 144,000 miles on the car and the two (2) bottom bolts came out of the right rear hub assembly, that attached it to the hub (frame). Had to replace the complete assembly. This could have been very dangerous. We checked the bolts on the left side and they were not as tight as they should have been. Please have a mechanic check all your bolts on the hubs.

Had the transmission serviced at 132,000, it just needed an adjustment.

Water and fuel pumps replaced at about 116,000.

General Comments:

My Sunbird is a great running car and is dependable. With regular maintenence it should last close to 300,000 or more. Smooth ride.

I bought the Pontiac Sunbird 94 in November (brand new). A year later the alternator burned out and the shift indicator on the console does not work except on the parking position. After checking by the Good Wrench mechanicians, the parking and the neutral indicator do not come up at all!

I am very dissatisfied with the electrical system of the Pontiac Sunbird and the Good Wrench mechanicians!

Also, the board comes off from the body, probably bad glue has been used!

I have replaced my alternator 5 times and the last time I installed it myself and I have not had any problems with it. The dealership puts cheap parts on car to cut cost.
