1997 Pontiac Sunfire SE 2.2 from North America

Faults:

A constant misfire. Brought it in for service, and told me I was crazy. The misfire has since past and noticed the interior panel in the back has started to change colour. All new cars today are made entirely of plastic.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

1997 Pontiac Sunfire Coupe SE 2.2 liter from North America

Faults:

My car is a pice of junk, it squeaks, rattles, the door liners are coming off, it scratches very easily, and it just doesn't feel well built!

General Comments:

DO NOT buy a PONTIAC SUNFIRE!!!!!

You did not mention anything in your complaints about reliability problems. Please tell me how many times it left you stranded? I am considering buying one. Thanks.

Hey well how much do you use your car, and how well do you take care of your car. My sister owns one, it was used by 4 different monstrous people who I all knew personally. It has been crashed once, well in other words they treat the car like dirt, but it is still running perfectly, all that has gone wrong is the radio. So consider taking care of your car!!!

My '97 Sunfire was taken care of very well, as was my '94 Toyota Corolla; by the book and then some: Result: my Corolla just turned 200,000 KM, never left me stranded, all original drivetrain, etc. The Sunfire, I got rid of after only 50,000 problematic KM, left me at the side of the road 5 times. Cost of (non) repairs + cost of car = way more than I could have bought a new '97 Corolla for at the time. However not all Pontiacs are junk, as I traded the Sunfire for a '77 Trans-Am + $4000 cash at the dealer it came from, so it was useful for something! Lesson: Do NOT buy a Sunfire.
