1995 Pontiac Sunfire SE review from North America
"Pontiac, Sunfire: Be afraid, be very afraid..."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The head gasket is leaking.
Anti-freeze seeps from the car.
The starter went out.
The alternator stopped working.
The air does not work.
Transmission had to fixed.
General comments?
The car looks very nice, but I have had problem after problem. My first car was a Pontiac 6000, which ran beautifully. When I graduated from college my youth told me it was time to move up and get another car. In hindsight, I should have kept the 6000.
AAA is a great service to have if you own this car. If you don't have AAA, get something in a hurry. The most annoying problem is the broken air- conditioner. I live in North Carolina where the humidity can be out-of-this-world in the summer. I have suffered a many days in this car. Sweating in traffic is no fun.
I have since given the car to my wife so she can get back in forward to work. I had to have the transmission fixed. That sucked down about $700.
I just had to have a Pontiac when I bought it because I figured it would be as reliable as the old 6000. I was sadly mistaken.
Stay away from the 1995 Sunfire!
