This truck eats tires! Heel & toe/uneven tire wear! It is probably due to the standard wheels (16x7) being too narrow for the width of the tire (265/70R16). Dealership service manager is an incompetent, and Toyota Canada Customer Service is anything but. They claim that it's all within spec, yet the truck will dance dangerously at highway speeds and I'll have gone through 2 different sets of tires in 2 years or 40000kms!!!
Other than the tire situation, I love this truck.
It is quite unfortunate about the ongoing tire wear experience. I must say that the original Bridgestone tires that I had on my 2000 SR 5 V6 was not impressive, but I managed to get 65,000 kms. I am currently using a set of Michelins that are outstanding and I am at 84,000 Kms. Very impressive tires I have to say, with no premature wear. I must comment that I have had excellent service thus far, with two service dealership experiences and have not had to go as far as Toyota Canada. I have had one warranty coverage item, which was addressed to my satisfaction by the service department. I purchased my vehicle with 50 kms and I can't say enough good things about this experience.

No, it's probably due to the lack of tire rotation... It needs to be done every 6,000 miles. Not just regular rotation (front to back), but side to side as well. Have them rotate the LF to RR, the RF to LR, and vice versa. This will fix your problem.
Rotation and balancing the tires is the key here (like on any other car as well). I have a set of Yokohama tires and after about 30K miles they still look like new!
