Just after purchasing the car, a part in the steering column had to be replaced. This had been causing a notch that you could feel when turning left. The dashboard 'creaks' especially when the air-conditioning is switched on. Although I have been told this is common. The hatchback struts no longer support the weight of the hatchback.
This is still one of the best cars to drive, that I have owned.
The performance and economy are both good, and the comfort,in my opinion is excellent.
This particular model (Arctic 2), has all the comforts you would expect in a much more expensive car, but at a very reasonable price.
I have to agree with your comments, I get fed up with everyone slagging a good car off.
Just purchased same model and totally agree with you.
I also have a vectra arctic 2 and have just spent another £600 having a THIRD gearbox put in, the 1st one decided to exit its insides through the casing at 47,000 and the 2nd one has just done the same at 64,000, THIRD TIME LUCKY, I Don't THINK SO, it is a common problem on the 1.8 engined vectras (the f-18 box) and vauxhall don't want to know about it and apparently the astra models with the same box are starting to chew the gears an spit them out, MEGAVAUX from nothhampton will sell you a reconditioned box for £423 INCLUDING VAT and DELIVERY, just hope it works.
