"I have had nothing but good luck"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The coils have gone bad on two separate occasions. The first coil failure was repaired under warranty. The second failure was repaired under mandate of a recall.

I have not experienced electrical problems.

This car does not like bumps or potholes.

General comments?

I have had nothing, but good luck with this automobile. The handling is exceptional. I cannot ask for better brakes.

I agree completely with this author. I have a 2002 A4 and 2 coils have failed, but the car did make it to the next town. I like the many details Audi puts into the product. I did tour the Audi plant near Munich and the operation and quality of the build in these cars is unmatched. The gas mileage with my CVT is around 30mpg. The car is a true value at 30K.

I too have nothing, but good luck with my A4. I have 199,500 on it, and it has never left my stranded.

What has failed or wore out is the sender for the temperature gauge (2x), tie rods, rear wheel bearings (once at 92,000 and the other at 188,000 miles), coil packs were recalled, plus replacing two others later on. The seat airbags were replaced for both front seats, and had to repair torn cv boots when they tear (two or three times).

Otherwise, though I autocross the car, and I have participated in six driving schools (three Audi Club and three independent), I continue to drive on the same shocks,

the same turbo, and the same clutch. My car is stock, for I discovered that when you modify (chip) the A4, its durability suffers.
