Engine temperature reaches half after 20 minutes drive.
Water pours out at the reservoir after use.
Needs to pull choke lever before cranking to avoid strong vibration.
The van is OK at the moment I already found the cure from overheat which is one of the important factor, here is my idea add silicon oil to the clutch fan if you feel your fan is loose then remove the coil located in the middle clutch fan.
I acquired a 91' LiteAce last December and I noticed that it has no water reservoir.
Is it normal for a LiteAce to have no water reservoir?
I find it hassle coz every time I add water in the radiator, I have to lift the driver seat and remove things in the console.
Comment pls..
The Lite Ace water reservoir is located at the battery compartment.
Change your 2 rows radiator into a 3 row radiator, it's a big help in over heating.
What is the average fuel consumption per km of a '91 Lite ace with a 5k engine?
Good day I also have liteace and my problem is overheating.
I have tried to use coolant last week, but when I'm on my way to cavite its heavy trapik, I loose almost half liter of coolant from my radiator (aircon on).So I full it with distilled water.
When I turn off the the aircon and way back home same trapik no problem found no overheat ypur advice will really be appreciated.
Tnx.
Wolve.
Our Lite ace is a late 1992 model. Had no problems with overheating. During heavy traffic, with air con on, the temp meter is only a one third high. My biggest problem is the weak engine. I'd love to increase its torque.
I am an owner of liteace gxl 93. Is it possible to convert manual steering to power steering? cost? Does it have a negative feedback with regards to conversion?
Yup mine is lite ace 92 model and last december I converted it to a power steering sarap na sya I drive surplus lang pianakabit ko and I'm satisfied for the work done.
But my problem is overheating I'venotice na hindi bumabalik ung coolant from reservoir to radiator.
Anyway almost 10k din nagastos ko pag convert ng powersteering.
Lite Ace Geeks...
Where is the best car shop to convert my lite ace into power steering? And how much? I read the other guy spent P10K...
Didn't experience problem with overheat... my concern is the dual aircon... not that cold at the back.
Please comment guys...
Talking about power steering. I had one installed in my van it as a surplus taken form 1997 model lite-ace gxl. I spent P10,000 for it. It includes the pump, resevoir, hoses, rack and pinion steering, plus labor charge. had it installed at my local mechanic shop here in cebu called "kris auto parts". Now its very comfortable to turn, especially now that I've change the wheels from 13" to 17" aerospeed wheels with dunlope lemans 415/40R17 tires. and lowered it 1" and 1-1/2" front and rear respectfully.
And about overheating the only solution that I have for that is change your thermostat with a new one. Because this things only has a lifespan of 8 years - 10 years the most depending on mile-age and driving conditions. This thing by the way cost only 450 surplus. There are no brand new genuine replacement for this from toyota philippines you to get it from japan.
And as for it's engine fuel consumption I made 11km:1L. and have low HC and CO emission. By just changing my oil to a fully synthetic one to be specific castrol "magnatec". And change my spark plugs with a bosch Platinum Super 4, and a bosch ignition coil. And if you ever heard of the Khaos STC air bleed device, I had one installed in my van. This device really helps carbureted cars, but not efi, but as for the liteace 5k it's a carburetted engine so this thing helps you.
By adding more air directly after the carburetor into the intake manifold thus leaning your fuel to air mixture. But make sure that you don't over do it for you might experience knocking. This adds to your mile-age if installed and tuned properly.
My van by the way is a 1989-1990 model lite-ace gxl. I'm planning to change my distributor to a contactor-less system, I'm still looking for a surplus one that might fit to the 5k design. This would really help the 5k's performance. I'm from cebu by the way.
Thanks for the information sharing on Lite ace. It really helps a lot. I am planning to install Khaos device to add more mileage. I would also advice that you guys regularly clean your air filter element. It helps a lot in the performance of engine. When I acquired my Lite ace, it was like having an ASTHMATIC engine, hard starting and GASPING for air, and I thought that something was wrong with the engine and it wasn't that smooth during idling although I had it tuned up twice, but never solved the problem. Until last month when I had the air filter cleaned using a high air pressure cleaner. When I replaced back the air filter element, I immediately noticed the smooth running engine even during idling and the extra mileage/liter. I am now satisfied with my Liteace...
Guys... how do you lowered your Liteace? Just get my juice from 4k to 5k... no problem with overheating.. my advice.. add a bigger fan to fit the radiator or run on 2 fan redundant ;)...
I can be reach at fathul@hotmai.com.. wanna get pics of my beauty it just coated with pearl grey. PIMPAGE!!!
My Liteace 93 max speed is 90kmph. I've heard that KHAOS is not a good device it increases NITROGEN OXIDE which is harmful to our health and also it can damage ur engine causes by too much air leaning HOWEVER, I also heard that it decreases gas consumption and add more power to your engine. I think both of the things, I've heard were true. That means using that device is too risky. I too were looking for info about increasing my 5k engines power moreover, I only found one safe way too increase power "Castrol Magnatec" or "Mobil Super", I've read info about those synthetic oil some says Mobil better than castrol others said the opposite either ways there both worth trying. I haven't tried those synthetics oils yet, I need to fix my overheating problems 1st ^_^v.
Hello guys! I am planning to purchase a Lite Ace GXL. I have read all comments here and most of the problems is all about overheating. There are several factors why an engine overheats. I really don't know the displacement of a 4K and a 5K engine. But first of all, we should not overburden our engine. An alternator with higher amperage (e.g. nearly 100 amps) will definitely add load to the engine (aside from the air con compressor, plus the weight of the vehicle and its passengers). A not well-tuned up engine is another factor (not in proper timing, intake / exhaust valves not adjusted according to engine specs, spark plug gap, contact point gap, old thermostat, and specially dirty radiator and contaminated water). So, for any questions about 4K or 5K engine specifications, please send me an email at "macgyver1432000@yahoo.com" and I will be more than happy to share about this topic.
I just bought a lite ace 2 weeks ago. It's a model 92, not the GXL version. Me driving solo, the first thing I noticed was it can't climb (approx 500m stretch of 15 degrees slope) any faster than 30kph with the air-con on.
What could be possibly wrong with my ride, or is it normal for this baby to crawl?
Is your liteace the same as mine, or am I missing something?
