Holden should call back all barina and change EGR valve. They know it is faulty and it is not fair to the customer. I have asked many barina owners and they have the same problem. Sometimes dealers have no idea as to what is wrong with the car. I think it is because this car is not made by Holden.
Our Barina also had an EGR valve problem. This shoudl have been a recall or at least fixed gratis when it breaks. Search for EGR valve and braina on google, it is a common issue.
I also have just had to have a replacement EGR valve. I have had issues with the starting of the car for the last 2 years - interestingly this seems to have improved with the replacement EGR valve. I have had problems with the steering also - apparently the steering is electric in these cars and can be adjusted.
I enjoy driving the car when it runs well, but I have to say I would not purchase another with the problems I have had to date.
