2000 Oldsmobile Alero GL2 review from North America
"Fantastic, sorry to hear others haven't enjoyed it as much as we have..."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced the brakes all around upon purchasing, as well as struts/shocks -- out of need, not faliure. Brakes were replaced with aftermarket, not GM...
Battery died Sept. '07, but hey, it was the original battery!
Spark plugs/wires, fuel filter, and O2 sensors replaced at 100,000mi.
General comments?
This car has been fantastic, getting us where we needed to go quickly and comfortably.
The car is comfortable, even on long trips. The lumbar support works great, and the seat has just the right number of positions to find that "perfect" driving position.
It handles like a dream in the twisties, the V6 engine loves to rev and yet still gives great fuel economy. I get 18-21mpg around town, and still get 27-30mpg on the freeway. My freeway best is 31.6, but that was at the lower elevations of California, not up in the mountains of Utah.
We have the "sun and sound" package that adds an 8-speaker stereo and a power sunroof. We love both, it just adds to the fun.
Our car has worn well for the 25,000mi that we have put on it. We expect to get to 200,000mi or more!
