1995 Geo Tracker review from North America

"This is the car I hate to love, and I love to hate"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

First thing's first. This car has been amazing for me. I bought this car for my friend Danielle, and part of the agreement was I am to maintain it. The first thing I noticed was the fact that it burned a little oil. No big deal. I recomended that my friend should check the oil level every time you stop for gas. (but of course she NEVER did...) Eventually, she complained of a horrible clanking noise coming from the engine, and to every mechanics worst nightmare, she blew out every gasket imagineable due to lack of oil.

On a lighter note, this car has strongly impressed me on the fact alone that it ran with practicaly NO OIL for 10 months. I have since given this car to my little brother, and he is rebuilding it for himself.

Minor problems, but continously annoying.

-First, the speedometer stoped working. That's why it got 3k miles in a whole year.

-Second, the convertable top started to leak, at the same time she ran over the rear window (not realizing it was on the driveway)

-Third, The driver's window stoped working, and soon after fell about half way, and won't go up or down (a 2x4 in the door fixed that)

-Fourth all the electronics fried! (luckily not the lights, but everything else, fan, stereo, dash lights.

-Fifth and final problem was, dhe driver door again. It refuses to stay latched unless you give it a good slam. Otherwise it'll randomly open when your driving. (we used a bunjee cord rig to help fix that...)

General comments?

I love it's peppyness. Yeah it's a small engine, but hey, it's a small car too.

Its not the most comfortable car for winter, but it rocks in the summer.
