1991 Citroen AX E review from UK and Ireland
"No frills nippy transport!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Starter motor (absolute pain to change).
Brake discs due to warping.
General comments?
It's the most basic car I've ever owned. Extremely cheap to run & nice little engine. Very quick for a 1.0L because the car body is so light.
Before this car I owned a Peugeot 309 1.9 GTI & it cost me an absolute fortune to run. I am soon going to purchase an AX 1.4 GTI (0-60 in 8.3 seconds, beat that for group 11 insurance).
Overall, if you are looking for a cheap dependable nippy runabout, this is the answer (40 to 60 mpg).
