1999 Chrysler Concorde LX review from North America
"Lots of bells and whistles and lots of repairs to go along with them"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
3 of the 4 electric motors in the power windows went bad. The dealer replaced all three under warranty, but wouldn't replace the last one unless it quit working too. It died 2 thousand miles after the warranty expired. The dealer wouldn't replace it for free, even though he admitted it had been a problem in other Concordes.
The weather stripping along the drivers side came off shortly after the warranty expired. Dealer replaced for free. 10 thousand or so miles later the weather stripping on the passenger side began coming off.
Wheel bearing replaced on front passenger side.
Interior dome lights shorted out.
Interior lights and dash lights flicker
periodically for no apparent reason.
Weather stripping around the headlights coming off.
Cooling fans short out causing car to run hot. This leads to major repairs on down the road.
Speed sensor goes bad causing car to stick in first gear.
Car begins smoking. Valve seals burned as a result of cooling fans shorting out.
General comments?
Car is very luxurious for the price, but you make up the difference in the long run on repairs.
Motor runs quiet and strong.
Has many features only found on more expensive vehicles.
