1997 Ford F150 XLT review from North America
"Would be Great if the Dealers did their Jobs!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
In 1999, computer needed to be replaced.
The lighter stopped working.
There is an electrical shortage somewhere - sometimes my radio stations
are all deleted out of the auto-settings
and the windows will work without the key being in the ignition.
My windshield wiper fluid didn't work.
In 2000, tie rods and ball joints replaced - told them there was noise in the engine - wraping on cold start - they told me there was nothing wrong.
In 2001 - have brought this vehicle back approximately 8 times for noise in the front end/engine. October 2002 - every gasket in the motor replaced.
Still had front end noise - had another mechanic (other than the dealer) and I had a snapped shock on the left side and was missing the stabilizer linkage totally. Also was told when they did the motor I didn't need front brakes only rear - I needed front brakes badly - was 1/2 the reason why there was noise in the front end.
General comments?
My point is, I love my truck, but the Ford Dealership repair people are either idiots, blind or both. I cannot imagine what could have happened had I lost control. The vehicle has obvious problems that any good mechanic should have seen. How do you miss a snapped shock and a missing front end piece???
