1995 Nissan Primera eGT review from UK and Ireland
"The range as a whole is underrated, reliable, well built, cheap to run and buy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Passenger side drive shaft needed replacing when I first bought the car.
Most of the exhaust has been changed.
Replaced radiator at approx 90K miles.
At 100,000 miles driver side drive shaft snapped.
Been through 4 sets of tires.
Will be putting in my third set of brake pads soon.
Both driver-side and passenger-side windows began to stick, easily fixed using Nylon (??) rubber lubricant from a well know motor outlet. Cheaper than replacing motor.
Prone to denting in car parks, from other inconsiderate motorists!
General comments?
The whole range is very underated, I just can't see why. It's very well built, cheap to run, economical and reliable, yet people seem to prefer Toyota's, Honda's, Ford's etc over it.
The eGT spec is a fantastic model, relaible and cheap to run.
It offers a superb motorway ride and handles very well round corners.
A very underated sports car by those not in the know!
I've shocked quite a few BMW's!!!
The 7500rpm redline limit is brilliant.
I've done 56k (hard, like I said I love the 7500 red line limit) miles in under 18 months. With no major faults!
I've treated the car as a real work horse! In the morning it'll tow all your rubbush to the council rubbish yard, then in the afternoon, shoot-off over 200 miles to London, and on the way bruise a few BMW's.
Its doesn't feel as quick as my 2.8 litre Golf VR6 High-line (which is quick on a striaght line), but it handles better and feels more secure, it is more comfortable and oh did i mention the 7500rpm red-line limit, absolutely wonderful from about 4000rpm to 7000rpm, that's why I'm getting rid of my VR6 and replacing it with a 200SX (or maybe a 300ZX).
It will easily cruise at 100mph for hours on the motorway.
I've done (when the mileage was approx. 67K) 135mph (ish) on a flat, staright stretch motorway.
Only bad point of the car, earned me a two week speeding ban!
