2002 Peugeot 307 HDI 110 Rapier review from UK and Ireland

"Looks nice, but the dealers should be shot"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Rear door handles locked.

Rear door handles have fallen off

Worn out clutch at 29000 miles

Broken flywheel

That little thing on the end of the stereo remote control keeps falling off and is broken.

Sticking glove box compartment.

General comments?

Whem I first bought the car, I thought it was great. Fantastic for a small family with good space for bits and pieces.

My complaint is more about the terrible service from the dealer in Birmingham rather than the car itself.

A broken flywheel and clutch are apparently caused from wear and tear. Wear amd tear from 15000 motorway miles. Can you believe that?

That is just the beginning. It took them two days to diagnose a slipping clutch. I told them that when I booked the car in. They then tell me that the parts are on order and it will take 4 weeks to get them in. No courtesy car etc was offered or available in the meantime. Sorry, they did offer me one for one day.

The Kwik Fit clutch centre 2 minutes away have offered to fit me the parts for half the price the next day. Makes you wonder what Peugeot are actually up to. Perhaps its the summer holiday and they don't work when the sun shines.

Also, if all the parts are on back order and cars are sitting on forecourts waiting to arrive, then it would appear that there is a general fault on their flywheels and clutches, although they would not confirm this and will not cover it on the warranty. £1000.00 repair bill is on the way to me.

After three days of messing with them I finally had enough. The local garage will replace the clutch for half the price and I am selling the car. Buying something German or Japaneese.

P.S everyone jokes about the Rover, but I had one for 4 years from new and never had a single problem unlike this 307.
