1991 Citroen AX GT review from UK and Ireland
"Budget pocket rocket"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Lights needed rewiring-earth points corrode easily
Ignition module went-got a replacement from scrap yard for £5
New radiator
New clutch
Lacquer has peeled off bonnet-looks terrible
Bits keep falling off-especially from the interior
Alloys corrode very easily
Am fighting off the rust now.
General comments?
Very good fun to drive-always puts a smile on my face
Except in the wet at which point it becomes a death trap
Surprisingly quick-slows a lot at 70mph
Which is good as the brakes are terrible
Very reliable-always starts, even in winter
Good handling
Except in the wet where it seems to loose all grip, especially under braking
Excellent value for money
Cheap insurance.
