2001 Volkswagen Polo Classic review from Costa Rica
"It's been an emotional nightmare"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Radiator or cooling system failed at 55000 KM.
Electrical system malfunctioned at 58000KM.
Transmission problems at 60000KM. Would not shift into 3rd or 4th gear.
Then the engine began to make noises and weaken when going up hills. 64000KM.
General comments?
It's never ending,,,in the 36 months of ownership the car has been in the shop 20 months. Waiting on parts or some other excuse, it's always something. I've spent $6500 in repairs with nothing to show for it. The dealership recently overhauled everything. It cost me $4500 and after 4 days it's back in the shop. It's been an emotional nightmare. I just got a lemon. The car maybe OK, but I was very unlucky.
