2002 Dodge Intrepid ES review from North America
"Cannot find a better deal these days"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Leaking auto tranny fluid the day I picked it up.
3 times, the check engine light came on, but it was only a poorly seated gas cap.
2 simple recall "repairs" at no charge, in and out at service station.
Trunk lid hydraulic assists went out within months.
General comments?
Fantastic acceleration, roomy, roomy, roomy, leather trim and moon roof make a nice setup.
Nice Infinity sound system and 6 cd changer from factory!
Easy to change own oil.
Simple, low-cost maintenance sched.
Easy to keep clean and waxed.
MPG between 22 and 25, average.
Quiet.
Sleek.
I've always used Mobil 1 and recommend it for this car.
Regularly change tranny fluid, rotate tires, clean throttle body and use 89 octane, minimum, IMO.
