1995 Honda Accord EX 4 cylinder

Summary:

Gets you from point A to point B, and wherever else you want to go

General Comments:

My Honda Accord EX, is a very amazing car. I know plenty of other people with Hondas, and they say that they are very reliable.

My parents have always been more of a Toyota type, but we found my Honda, and I fell in love with it the first day I drove it, it handled great, the speed was great, sun roof, nice leather interior, speakers, and anything you can think of.

The pedal isn't sensitive, which I love. I have ABS and power steering, which makes the car more of a luxury.

It's a 4 speed automatic, I get around 20+ miles to the gallon, and in this economy I spend about $20 at about $1.80 a gallon to fill up.

I feel this car will get me through everything needed. But like has been said in a few other reviews, the Honda Accord is not a car that's for speed, with 145hp (horsepower) it gets the job done, but if you want to go fast, I don't suggest it unless you're looking to put money into it, like I am looking to do when I make more money.

The car rides smooth, and has a loose suspension.

1995 Honda Accord LX 2.2

Summary:

Piece of crap

Faults:

I don't understand the fascination with Hondas?

My wife is high on them too, after this being our third one with all 3 being nothing but problem after problem after problem, I have finally convinced her we will not buy another!

It all started out with brake linings, no problem, I consider that a maintenance item, not really a repair, but after 4K on new linings it needed them again GRRRR! This time the mechanic replaced the calipers and rotors, thinking that will make them last; well it worked, but I could almost buy a used car for the price of having all that replaced, since even the parts seem to priced at a premium over other cars.

Next we have 2) 02 sensors go bad; bam another $300.

Fuel pump; Just under $500.

P/s Pump and rack OUCH $1200.

Idle control valve solenoid $300.

Computer module $1600.

General Comments:

I have more in parts than I paid for the car to begin with, AND I'm not even counting the normal stuff like plugs, wires, belts, hoses, struts, shocks, tires, filters.

I hate these cars now!

I think to fairly judge whether a Honda is a good car, you should buy a much newer one. (At least one built in this century.

Come on now, this car was 11 years old when you purchased it.

You say you've owned three. Where they all well used when you got them???

How many miles were/are on the car?

I'm not big on Hondas either but in fairness, this car was 11 years old and had over 100,000 when you purchased it - Everything that failed could be expected to fail on an older car such as this.

Really this is not an accurate assessment of the Honda brand to base it on a car that was very, very, used when you purchased it.

FYI they do not come with lifetime warranties, although it seems a lot of posters on this site expect that with old used cars. Far too many unrealistic expectations - would you be complaining about an 11 year old computer, washing machine or TV set like this?

1995 Honda Accord LX 2.2

Summary:

Amazing

Faults:

I have owned this car for a while now and the guy before me took great care of it. It looks brand new, for a 95 Honda Accord LX, with a 5 speed trans in it, it's amazing.

The car looks and drives still like brand new without a problem.

General Comments:

Awesome.
