1994 Chevrolet S-10 LS 4.6 Vortec from North America

Summary:

Great Truck - Buy on for yourself

Faults:

Windshield wipers seem to only work when it is not raining.

Heater Core went out at 82,889 Miles.

Replaced Radiator at 137,000 Mi, there seems to be rust in the engine causing the fluid to turn brown no matter how many flushes I do.

Brakes seem to need pad replacing often (but then again it could be the driver). They are easy to replace, but you need to buy a special hex to remove the caliper.

Chassis needs lubricating fittings after each oil change or it will squeak. I have found you have to make sure you ask them to do this or it doesn't get done.

Distributer Cap and Rotor went out at 82,889 miles.

Fuel Pump went out at 144,159 miles - this on was expensive to replace $400!

Smog check has always past - pretty good for California.

Starter needed replacing at 129K miles.

Water Pump needed replacement at 135K Miles.

General Comments:

Although I have had to replace many items, the duration between each repair seems well worth it.

The problem with the wiper not working in the rain is irritating, but because it rarely rains in CA I forget about the problem most of the time.

The interior looks brand new, only had to replace the window cranks.

Overall, a great long lasting car for the money. I feel it was worth the money in fixing items on a truck that could last 15-20 years.

1994 Chevrolet S-10 SS 4.3 liter V6 from North America

Summary:

A superb truck!!!

Faults:

As with any vehicle with 150000 miles on it there have been some minor repairs.

The brakes have been done twice at expected intervals.

The alternator bearings went out at 148000.

The electric fuel pump went out because I ran it out of gas and I thought it was kind of pricey. But it was my fault.

Parts of the inside door panels fall apart, but I fixed them with sheet rock screws.

The clip which holds the oil coolant lines wore a hole through the return line and should have been recalled. It came out of my pocket, and was $50.00.

General Comments:

It is the SS model which means very little, but it is very peppy and will whoop a ranger.

The interior is still in pristine condition and the paint is like new.

All things considered this truck is great.

Are very underestimated by v8 guys.

I will agree with the comment of underestimated by v8 guys. I have already beat 2 2003 4.8 litre short wides. they made fun of me so I beat them, and they shut up after that.

I have a 94 S-10 SS, and have had it since 95. I bought it with 10,000 miles on it for $11,000.00.

This truck looks good & is very fast for a V6 due to my 3.62 rear gear & posi. Does a nice burnout.

I am thinking about stuffing it with a small block stroker motor since it is getting older now. Just for fun.

I bought my 94 S-10 SS new. It has 70,000 miles on it and is stored in the winters, I think it is a GREAT truck. It is all original but the tires and the battery. I ordered it black but changed my mind and changed it to red.

1994 Chevrolet S-10 Tahoe LT 4.3 Liter V6 from North America

Summary:

Almost Perfect

Faults:

I have had little problems with my Chevy. However, a couple of things have gone wrong.

First, about a month after I bought my Blazer, my heater core blew, which ended up costing me around $200 to get fixed.

Second, all of the pieces on the outside of my windows, are beginning to rust, and fall off.

General Comments:

Other than those two complaints, my truck is great.

It is comfortable, with its leather seats, power doors and windows, and power seats.

It handles well in snow, even though it is a 2 wheel drive vehicle. (Rear wheel drive)

As my first car, it is so nice on the inside, that people think I am a spoiled kid because of its terrific condition.
