1999 Daewoo Leganza SE review from North America
"Buyer beware"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Timing belt went at 58000 miles, bending the valves.
Brakes have been replaced twice.
Rotors were replaced 06/03.
Defogger usually doesn't work well unless you use the A/C at the same time.
Key sometimes sticks in the ignition.
General comments?
Motor had to be replaced when timing belt went. Since company filed bankruptcy, it took many phone calls and threats of legal action to have a new motor ordered. Car was in the shop for 6 weeks.
Parts are available, IF you are willing to look for them.
Body damage? Might as well forget getting it fixed and find another vehicle.
Car does ride very well for the price.
Looks like a luxury sedan, but at a fraction of the cost.
Car has good speed and handles exceptionally well on corners, sharp turns, and fast stops.
Could be better on fuel mileage.
Depreciation will blow your mind.
