Very uncomfortable ride, suspension is too stiff so you tend to feel every bump in the road.
In the first 8 months the car went back each month for faults, the last 6 for the same fault which they could not fix and then finally tracked it down to the immobiliser, as the engine kept on cutting out when the car comes to a stop.
Interior lights and license plate lights faulty on delivery.
Dealer service is absolutely poor compared to my previous experience with dealers.
Takes too long to book the car in for a service. Typically takes 2 weeks to book the car in and get a courtesy car.
Don't expect reminders of upcoming service's on the vehicle.
Recently the horn has stopped working and one of the doors has had its locks come loose.
I find it very hard to recommend Daewoo as a whole, from poor dealer service, to getting a car which has been a lemon from the start. Thankfully the car is running well, touch wood!!
I have owned two Matiz from new since 98. The staff are nice enough at the local dealership, but the service is rubbish.
This is mainly due to a short supply of parts. I will nver buy another Daewoo car.
Anyway once GM take over the warrantys will not be continued.
Gave up smoking and with the money I bought my first brand new car. A Daewoo Matiz. A new gearbox fitted after only 6 months of driving, New complete speedo, rear seat belt needed replacing as it chocked passsengers. Finally took it to Scotland for it's first long run and on the motorway gearbox oil was sucked up the speedo cable into the footwell and pouring out from behind the radio!!! Daewoo in Scotland said the gearbox had been over filled. Anyone had similiar experience? Now smoking again, cheers Daewoo.
I had a rented Matiz for one day as my VW Beetle was in for a service and no loan cars were available. I found the car frightening because it felt like it was going to roll over and it didn't seem to want to stop at junctions, so I returned it 6 hours early. Good job VW payed for it because I wouldn't have.
