Summary:

Great, reliable truck

Faults:

Just today, my check engine light came on. I checked the oil and the transmission fluid, but everything seems to be okay, still runs great. But it does make a ticking sound when I start it, something I hadn't heard until recently.

General Comments:

125,000 miles and still running great, this truck is a work horse. I've made plenty of trips pulling my trailer, I can't even feel it. As long as you keep up with the regular, routine maintenance on these trucks, you'll have no problems at all. I traded in my Lexus for this truck, I don't regret it one bit. In fact, I'm looking into buying myself another one, those 2007s sure look nice.

Summary:

The best truck I have ever owned

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with the truck, and it's still as tight as the day it was made.

General Comments:

I paid $5000 for the truck in mint condition, and would not trade it in for the world.

The cab is a club cab, and the extra room is perfect; not too big, not too small.

It rides like a champ, the engine purrs like a kitten, and the shocks are just right for street travel.

The look of the truck is very pleasing to the eye, and the color accents the shape of the truck (patriot blue pearl).

I would tell anyone who needs a truck to pick a Dodge for power to price.

Summary:

Great out of the gates, not much stamina

Faults:

Shudders when you step on the brake and almost stalls if you don't release the brake quickly and reapply the brake when stopping.

General Comments:

Loved the truck at first, but now nothing, but problems for the past year.

Summary:

A powerhouse truck with comfort

Faults:

Had the Upper Ball Joints replaced as per the recall, and the Lower Ball Joints were bad as well. Dodge Dealer did the work and for just the Lower Ball Joints and an alignment, I dished out over $450.00. I got a quote from another mechanic at a smaller shop and he said he would have done it for $250.00!

After a year and a half, I had to replace the front brake pads, rotors, and a right side tie rod end. I consider this normal wear and tear though.

Rear bumper is completely rusted through where the holes for the trailer ball go. The previous owner must have tried to pull something with the step bumper rather than the hitch under the rear bumper and it slightly crinkled the bumper and started to rust.

General Comments:

The 4.7 engine in this truck is a beauty! I use to own a 1985 Pontiac Trans Am with a 5.0 under the hood and this trucks power easily compares with the Trans Am I had. I own a pop up camper that weighs in at a ton and this truck pulled it over 100 miles like there was nothing hooked to it. The 4 Wheel Drive in this truck is excellent. 4 point positive traction in the snow makes for a good ride to work in a foot of snow. Also 31" tires get great traction. Believe it or not, I don't have any other issues with this truck even at 115,000 miles.

Wanted to continue on about this truck. It now has 120,000 miles on it, still running great, no additional problems and I would recommend a Dodge Dakota to anyone. Also, the payload capacity was checked while I was hauling a load of patio blocks and sand. I had well over 1500 pounds in the back of this truck and it had absolutely no problems hauling it over 10 miles home. Any half ton truck wanna try that???

I agree those trucks can move, I have had the pleasure of driving 2, and each with the 4.7, they can easily spin tires when shifting into second, replacing front shocks is easy, 2 bolts, nice truck!

I agree, had 45 cement blocks in mine once. Was very worried, but still drove about 60 miles (highway and country roads), rode like a charm still. Could do 130kph with no problems.
