1988 Ford Bronco II Eddie Bauer review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
In the past 6 months: new shift rod, new dipstick holder (rusted off), new thermostat.
General comments?
MPG = 14 (on 89 octane)
Good looking car, I love the way it handles (great for a truck). Incredible off-road capabilities (this was when they actually built trucks to go off-road, instead of toting around the kids and the family dog).
Service (Scarsdale Ford Service) is very bad. Nothing like Honda dealer service, where they are friendly, accomodating, and they do the job fast, well, efficiently, and with great value.
Don't buy a one of these used unless you want to put about 500-1000 dollars in it a year to keep it running (assuming you take care of the body & engine) and that's only on repairs.
Otherwise, it's the perfect car for me and the interior is comfortable and spacious for a small, light truck.
