1995 Ford Probe GT 2.5 liter, 24v, quadcam, V6 from North America

Summary:

Never saw it coming because it was already there

Faults:

Small radiator coolant leak.

The exhaust was replaced with performance products, but not due to any major problems.

General Comments:

This car has a great response to the gas pedal and will give you what you ask for.

Fuel mileage is good.

Has a sporty feel in the interior, but is still comfortable.

I have run respectable times at a drag strip and have raced many cars. Such as Civics, Accords, Integra Type-R, Eclipes GST, Celica GTS, Prelude, Mustang GT and Cobra, Maxima, 240s, Cougar, and have beat all of them.

The only cars I have raced and lost aginst are a Camaro Z28, SS, and a 5.6 liter 98 Trans Am.

I recommend it to any one who wants to own a sleeper.

1995 Ford Probe GT 3.0 V6 24v from North America

Summary:

Poor man's sports car

Faults:

Water pump went out, and burned up the engine. Awaiting an engine now.

Right headlight pop-up motor went out, sticking the light in the up position.

Speakers have blown, but that is just good music.

General Comments:

Paint job seems to be fading on the hood, but otherwise, I love this car, almost as much as the 95 Eclipse GS that I had.

I have to say that the handling and initial kick this car has is great. I have taken a blind S turn, banked, going into it at 55 and exiting at 80. Most people, including the stated signs, take it at about 20. Just goes to show that a good car, and some good tires, will make a great sports car out of just about anything.

It's really nice that you love your probe so much, but you should probably check up on it some more becuase the Probe GT engine was never 3.0L.

1995 Ford Probe GT 2.5L 24v V6 from North America

Summary:

A lot of fun for your dollar, great handling!

Faults:

The first thing that went was the oxygen sensors, they cost about $225US to repair.

Next, the power locks acted up, and needed cleaned - Not a big deal.

The tires needed replaced, but that's from smokin' them off, so not a problem.

The cupholder was broke when I bought it.

The paint has some chips in it, but nothing serious.

The exhaust rusted just in front of the muffler, and it sounded awesome! I got tired of the loudness, so I had it repaired for $30 US.

The rear valve cover leaks very slowly, not much oil loss, so I didn't replace them yet. They say it is not too hard, but you must pull the intake manifold.

General Comments:

This car rocks!

It handles like you wouldn't believe, and red-line is at 7,000RPM! It has good power from 3,000 to 7,000 and likes the high revs, But be sure to run Amsoil synthetics, better performance and wear protection!

This car is fun to drive, and very spacious inside, if you don't count the back seat.

Great to look at, but not fun to own

Faults:

The transmission has been rebuilt and then repaired several times to make it just right.

The electric windows, locks, and headlights have all had problems.

The exhaust is now being repaired.

General Comments:

The car is fast and beautiful, but so far has cost more money than it should have.

I know what you mean, my Probe has had the transaxle, motor, starter, alternator, some misc... sensor, and now it is back in the shop and they can't figure out why it won't start.

1995 Ford Probe GT V6 from North America

Summary:

A great buy - I love it!

Faults:

Had to replace the muffler and an exhaust pipe when it rusted through at 75,000.

The rear window washer sprayer nozzle broke out.

General Comments:

It's a great sports car. I fell in love with it the minute that I saw it on the lot. It handles really well. I just like how small it is.

However, because it is so low to the ground, you feel almost every bump, but other than that, I would definitely buy it again. The only other thing that I would say I didn't like about it is the fact that the cup holders are in a bad spot.
